Robson Green, renowned Geordie actor and presenter, is back in Northumberland for another season of Robson Green’s Weekend Escapes. We’re excited that Ingram Valley Farm will feature on the show again!
During Robson’s first visit to our farm, in February, he explored the farm’s protected archaeology, including the Iron Age hillforts. He considered these hillforts to be among the “best preserved in Europe.” We enjoyed showcasing these ancient hillforts and their history as defining features of Ingram Valley.
Ingram Farm is home to the original Iron Age hillforts Middle Dean, Wether Hill and Brough Law. These forts offer mesmerising, panoramic views of the Breamish Valley and the surrounding landscape. They are the perfect place for a countryside walk or to observe Northumberland’s wonderful wildlife. Visitors can spot native species, such as the nesting curlews and soaring skylarks, around these Hillforts.
Robson’s February visit significantly increased interest in our farm. This surge led to numerous bookings and inquiries about our award-winning Ingram Valley Farm Safari experience. Some individuals with accessibility requirements also inquired about the accessibility of the farm.
In response to this feedback, we have been developing ways to ensure that everyone can experience the Ingram Hillforts. We take pride in the praise we’ve received from Northumberland National Park and Historic England for our efforts to make our farm experience more accessible.
This year, we will appear in a January episode of ‘Weekend Escapes’ on BBC2. Faye Tozer, from the band Steps and Strictly Come Dancing, will join local artist Anthea Wood from ‘Amwood Art.’ They will paint the Ingram Bridge along the River Breamish. Anthea’s incredible artwork is displayed in our Star Barn, where she also runs Dark-Sky and Lino Print Workshops for our guests.
During the show, Robson Green will walk from the local Ingram Café to Wether Hill and Cochrane Pike. We plan to showcase the best of Ingram Farm and all the surrounding features, and we hope you tune into the show in the New Year!
